Online Bermuda Race Begins June 19

In this virtual Newport Bermuda Race held on SailOnline.org, competitors and race fans will sail 635 miles in one of four new model boats whose manufacturers have sponsored the race.

NEWPORT, RI (June 1, 2020)—The 52nd running of the “Thrash to the Onion Patch” has been postponed until 2022, but a fleet will nonetheless set sail to Bermuda on June 19, the original start date. The 2020 Online Newport Bermuda Race will be sailed in partnership with SailOnline.org, with free entry to participants. Sponsors include Jeanneau North America, X-Yachts USA, Dehler Yachts/McMichael Yacht Yards & Brokers, and Italia Yachts/David Walters Yachts.

Both Exmouth RNLI Lifeboats attend emergencies

At 12:17 hrs today, Thursday 28 May 2020 both Exmouth’s RNLI temporary lifeboats, the Inshore Lifeboat D-755 Peggy D and All Weather Lifeboat 13-33 Bridie O’Shea were requested to launch by H.M. Coastguard following reports of a swimmer who had reportedly disappeared out of view off the beach at Steamer Steps, Budleigh Salterton.
