4th December 2019: Although what appeared to be a steady North Easterly breeze onshore, turned out to be very shifty and variable in strength offshore. Then during the first sequence it swung 45 degrees and the race had to be postponed for an hour, to move the course further out to sea. When the racing classes did get underway, the windward mark for the big boats, was laid in the wrong place and a rushed attempt to correct it failed, so PRO Ross Chisholm was forced to can the race. Racing did eventually get underway, three and half hours late, as the breeze began to fade but two windward/leeward races were completed. The Cruisers on Course B did get away on time, with a course that took them up the coast to Patong Bay and back. As it was completed in relatively quick time, another course was laid and two more races took place for most the classes. The International Dinghy classes and Radio Controlled IOM class, also started their series today, with mixed results. Check out the AY Photo Gallery
