Melges 24 News from IM24CA – April 2021

BEST TO YOU FOR YOUR HEALTH, SAFETY, AND FAST SAILING!
Dear Melges 24 sailors,
While I had held high hopes for hosting a World championship in 2021, given the continuing global uncertainty regarding COVID-19, the leadership of the class has decided that we will not be attempting to host a World championship in 2021.  We have several options for 2022 that are under consideration;  while I cannot say exactly when or where yet, I can say that we will be in North America. And, the 2023 Worlds will be in Denmark.
I am so very sad that we have lost our friend George Haynie, Treasurer of the USM24CA for past eight years and stalwart of the class.  He was an extremely dedicated member of our class and always wore a smile on his face.  I will miss him.
My wish to all of you is to stay safe and healthy – and to go sailboat racing when you can!
Laura Grondin,
IM24CA Chair Chair
